There are 2 methods of using EKFeed with EventKeeper.
1. The easiest and most common method is to include the code for an EKFEED FORMATTED TABLE in the source code of your page. Adding this snippet of javascript code will automatically draw a table of events on the page wherever the code is added. This table will be automatically updated with the events from your EventKeeper calendar.
Here is a sample of an EKFeed Formatted Table: Case Memorial Library and Manhasset Public Library
To create this type of EKFeed:
From there, you will be provided with the following steps:
2. The second type is called EKFEED ARRAY VARIABLE. With this method, EventKeeper again creates a javascript file, but in this case, it contains just event data in a javascript array and the displaying of the data is up to you, using javascript code.
This method gives you much greater flexibilty to display the data however you want but requires that you are able to create the javascript code to do so.
Here is a sample of an EKFeed Array Variable: Port Jefferson Free Library
The steps to creating this type of EKFeed are similar to those above but when you create the sample page, you should look at the source code for that page and use the javascript code there as a starting point for when you develop the javascript code to include in your page that will display the events.
Change the URL to HTTPS to make the feed secure
Formatting an Array Variable Feed
EK has a source code editor for Array Vairiable feeds that lets you edit the code and see the changes before publishing to your site. Once you make the feed and create the display in the editor (as detailed above) you will see a small blue Format an Array Feed link. This opens up an editor with the source code on the left and the display on the right. Once you edit the code and hit save, you can see the chnages on the right. When finished, the top of the page has 2 javascript snippets. You need both of them. One is the event data and the other is all of the styling. Copy and paste both of them into your website. They should look like the links below
Example:
<SCRIPT language="javascript" src="http://www.eventkeeper.com/ekfeed/KN_TEST.js"></SCRIPT>
<SCRIPT language="javascript" src="http://www.eventkeeper.com/ekfeed/KN_TEST_DISPLAY.js"></SCRIPT>
