The first step in this process if for you to create two template pages that are hosted on your website.
Here are the "help" pages also available to you if you login to EK Mars Admin here : https://www.eventkeeper.com/mars/xpages/admin/
"
- First, we enable EK Mars for your organization. Part of this setup is to give one of your EventKeeper (EK) editors the ability to configure your instance of EK Mars. We will also create a directory to hold your custom pages.
- Next, you create a two pages on your website that serve as templates or model of how you want your calendar page to look. We call those the xPage Templates. On these pages you will include some text elements that tell the software where you want the various elements to be located on the final page. We call these xPage tags.
For instance, you would put the tag ~event_list~ at the place on the page where you want to locate the EventKeeper list of events.
Here's an example that one of our clients created: http://northlandlibrary.org/events-calendar-list-view/. This is their list template page. You'll see they added our tags to the area of the page where they want the data to display. I then take that template page, format the data display, and they get a branded calendar that looks like this: http://www.eventkeeper.com/mars/xpages/n/northland/ek.cfm.
The current list of xPage tags for a typical EK LIST xPage template page are:
~event_setup~ first thing on the page
~event_small_cal~ display the small calendar
~event_list_criteria~ display the event selection criteria
~event_search~ display the event search icon
~my_reg_link~ link to My Registrations (optional if organization has registrations)
~event_list~ display the list of events
~event_end~ last thing on the page
Please note that some of the above tags are optional. Be sure to at least include:
~event_setup~
~event_list_criteria~
~event_list~
~event_end~
The current list of xPage tags for a typical EK MONTH xPage template page are:
~event_setup~ (first thing on the page)
~event_month_criteria~ (display the event selection criteria)
~event_search~ (display the event search icon)
~event_month~ (display the big calendar)
~event_end~ (last thing on the page)
Please note that some of the above tags are optional. Be sure to at least include:
~event_setup~
~event_month_criteria~
~event_month~
~event_end~

As I described, the first step in this process is for you to create template pages hosted on your website. This process is explained on the HELP page. You will need to create two pages : one for Event List View and one for Event Month View. On these pages you will include a set of tags (listed on the help page) that will pull in your library's EventKeeper Calendar information.
Once you have created these two pages you will enter the URL of each into the "Template Page" section of the EK Mars Admin page you are logged into. At the top there is a drop down list, The Event List Template URL goes onto the EK List page while the Event Month Template goes onto the EK Month.
At that point, you are ready to "turn the crank" by clicking on the blue button labeled "Save Template URL" and then on the green button labeled "Create the Page".
Your pages are now created! Click on "Show the Page" to see your created EK Mars Advanced calendar pages.
You have two options now... If you are comfortable with CSS, please feel free to click the "Edit Live Styles" button and tinker with the styles of the two created pages. If you are not comfortable with CSS, please do not hesitate to contact me with any changes you would like to make! I can reposition some of the elements and change the colors around... whatever it takes so that you are happy with your new pages.
