Creating a Room Request Editor
You are going to create an editor that only has the ability to view rooms that have a show status. This is editor will only be able to request rooms and equipment that you have designated as public.
- Login to your Eventkeeper Rooms list page and click on Admin Page
- Under Editors, click Create
- Use the following settings:
- Editor Team = Room Request
- Editor Password = roommartix
- Editor name = Room Matrix
- Editor Post Status = Room Request
- Editor Begins With = Room Request
- Editor Can Add Conflicts = no
- EditorUsually Checks Conflicts = no
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click OK
Creating a Link for the Public
You are now ready to insert a header on your EventKeeper Rooms page for patrons to click on to request a room. You will also need to create some room request rules.
- On the Admin Page, scroll to EKROOMS General Setup and click Edit
- Input the staff contact information for the person who will approve room requests
- Determine the number of days ahead to allow for booking
- Under List Header, click "include a link to the request for." This will input a link that should look like this (the highlighted text is what your patrons will see):
Please click here to request a Room
- If you like, you may include a text header with brief information about booking study rooms. For example:
Please provide as much information as possible about the event.
Study Rooms may only be booked by calling the Reference Desk at 555-555-5555
- If you want your patrons to view and agree to your room use policy, include this in the Room Use Agreement field:
I have read and do agree to the Room Use agreement as described here.
- Enable conflict checking
- Alternate "show busy" text (list view) = Room Booked
- Alternate "show busy" text (calendar view) = Room Booked
- Event List Display = Show
- Room Use display = Show
- If you require additional data from the patron, cloose them under additional data list
- If you have fee requirments, input those
- Click OK when done

Your link should look like this:
