What are Kit Groups?
Kit Groups are similar to Pass Groups in Tixkeeper where users can limit the number of reservations for kits in a given time period. Any kits assigned to the same group can have limits to the number reserved for a time. For example, all kits in the group "HotSpots" can only have 2 reservations per card per 30 days.
How Do I set up Kit Groups?
Step 1: Turn on Pass groups
Login as admin and got to Orgnazation Infromation section. At the bottom of the page there is a toggle for "does this org have kit groups." Click YES and save.
Note: if you set up Kit Groups in the kit records , but turn off kit groups for the org, Kit Groups rules will still be enforced, but you can't see them in the kit records. They are like phantom rules.
Step 2: Set up groups by editing kit records
To add a kit to a Kit group, edit the kit record. At the bottom of the kit record you will see three fields to fill in to get the rule to work.
- Kit Group Name - name your rule. Start wit the ORGCODE to avoid confusion like KN_hotspots
- Kit Group Window Days - enter in the number of days that you want to block out. If you enter in 30 days, this will prevent other resvervations for other kits in this kit group 15 days before and 15 days after the pick up date chosen. The confirmation page will list the window.
- Kit Group Max Kits - Enter in the number of kits that can be reserved in the window given. Like 2 kits in 30 days for this group.
Notes:
Kit Groups will work if some kits are in groups and others are not.
Make sure that you type the group name to exactly match the others. It will fail if there is a typo.
