Scenario: You’ve had a patron come to your desk saying that they received an email saying that there is a kit waiting for them at your library. The trouble is you don’t have it. The following procedure will help you find out where the kit is now and how to fix the mistake.
Note: KitKeeper is fully automated and will send out emails to patrons when kits are reserved or ready for pick up. It is important to correct mistakes as they come up in order to make sure that KitKeeper can alert patrons and staff at the correct times.
Finding the current location of the kit
- Login to KK as Admin. Staff logins will be unable to see and edit the specific kit actions.
- Scroll down to the Staff Action Table and choose “All Actions (any branch at any time)” from the drop down menu. This will list all of the kits processed by KK in alphabetical order by Author. Find the kit that is missing from your library and click on the Track button next to the list if states.
- From this screen you can see the date that the kit was last touched. Make a note of this date.
- Click on the Return to KitKeeper Main Menu link at the top of the page.
- In the KK main menu, click on the Where are our Kits? button. This log will tell you where the kit is in its cycle. It should say which library was the last to touch the kit and you can contct them directly.
Resetting the tracking screen for the kit
Click on the tracking button for the kit in question. At the bottom of the page, there is a button called Administrative Reset of Kit Use. This button will clear out all tracking steps and let you start again.
